NORTHERN CIRCUIT ROUTE
Trekking Overview
Is the new route which starts from Londorosi gate, it’s among of the best trail that allows client time for acclimatization due to number of days spend on trek. With a high success rate, incredible varied scenery and a very low number of visitors, the Northern Circuit route is certainly one of the best routes on Kilimanjaro.
Day 01: Kilimanjaro International Airport - Arusha
On arrival at the airport after customs and immigration formalities you will be met and transferred to Arusha and if time allows you will be met by Kili trekking crew for briefing also for checking climbing gears. Overnight stay

Day 02: Arusha – Londorosi Gate / Lemosho – Forest Camp (altitude 2,870) (trekking hours – 3-4)
Breakfast at your lodge, then you will depart to Londorosi gate for registration, after than you will start our climb steadily through the forests of the Lemosho glades to reach Forest camp where you will be spending the night.
Day 03: Forest Camp – Shira 1 Camp (altitude 3,500) (trekking hours – 7 – 8)
Today you will trek across a plateau of grassy moorland and heather scattered with volcanic rock formations. Our destination for today is the Shira 1 Camp where we will spend a night.
Day 04: Shira 1 Camp – Shira 2 Camp (altitude 3800m) (trekking hours – 3 – 5)
After breakfast we explore the Shira Plateau, it’s a gentle walk east on moorland pastures to Shira 2 Camp for leisure and overnight stay.
Day 05: Shira 2 Camp – Lava Tower (altitude 4600/4100m) (trekking hours – 3 – 4)
We start a day by trekking to East up ridge also Southeast towards Lava Tower, then we turn away from main trail to Moir Hut where you can walk on Lent hills as acclimatization session.
Day 06: Moir Hut – Buffalo Camp (altitude 4000m) (trekking hours – 5 – 8)
As we trek out of Moir Valley with a temperately vertical climb, we will hike to the summit of Lent Hills before returning to the main trail, the trail crosses a rock field before reaching Buffalo Camp for overnight stay.
Day 07: Buffalo Camp – Third Cave (altitude 3800m) (trekking hours – 5 – 7)
As we head up to Buffalo Ridge, the landscape becomes gradually thin, this route is not over crowded so we will enjoy its mountain wilderness feel. We trek through remote valleys on to the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro until we arrive at Third Cave for overnight stay.
Day 08: Third Cave – School Hut (altitude 4700m) (trekking hours – 4 – 5)
Today we trek steadily to Saddle, which is in middle of Kibo and Mawenzi hut, we then proceed to School Hut for leisure and pre-summit briefing from our guides followed by early dinner and short rest.
Day 09: School Hut – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Mweka Camp (altitude 3050m) trekking hours – 12 – 14)
At mid night you will be awaken by your guides and mountain crews for a light breakfast and summit ascent, enjoy couple of minutes at the summit but depends on the weather. Descend back to Barafu Camp for brunch then continue down to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Mweka Camp to the Gate then Arusha (trekking hours 3-4)
After breakfast descend down to Mweka Gate through the rain forest, where on arrival you will check out and rewarded certificates followed by a farewell celebration with climbing crew. After that you will drive to Arusha where a warm shower and a comfortable bed will be waiting for you.

Day 10: Arusha – Kilimanjaro International Airport
After breakfast, you will have a free day with an option of joining our safari schedule or you will be transferred to airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
